The menopause is something that all women go through and some can experience severe symptoms that last for seven or more years. Yet as a society, we don’t talk about it that much. That tide is just starting to turn, so we invited GP and clinical sexologist Dr Angela Wright onto this episode to explain the menopause and to walk us through what options are available for women before, during and after the menopause (and to tell us what a sexologist is!).

That tide is just starting to turn, so we invited GP and clinical sexologist Dr Angela Wright onto this episode to explain the menopause and to walk us through what options are available for women before, during and after the menopause (and to tell us what a sexologist is!).
Dr Angela gives the clinical definition of the menopause and lists some menopause symptoms. She talks about what treatment options are and give reassurance that it’s ok to ask for treatment, even though the menopause is ‘natural’. You’ll also hear the support you can ask for from your workplace if you’re experiencing menopause symptoms and learn about other resources that are available for menopausal women.
This episode is a sympathetic guide for anyone who’s affected by the menopause, which also includes the partner, family and friends of menopausal women. If you learnt something, please subscribe to the Oh For Food’s Sake Podcast and share your thoughts with us on our Facebook page.
